Widespread and general weak-moderate intensity somatic (nucleus+cytoplasm) immunostaining of neurons and moderate-intensity immunostaining of astrocytes (both in the gray- and white matter) are noticed throughout the entire brain.
The astrocyte staining is the most pronounced in the lateral septum, ventral pallidum, globus pallidus, hippocampus, substantia nigra and in the dorsal gray matter of the medulla, around the fourth ventricle.
