A complex staining:
Strong diffuse-synapstic and axonal immunostaining is noticed in the caudate putamen, nucleus accumbens (core and shell), ventral pallidum, zona incera, ventral tegmental area and substantia nigra.
Weak diffuse-synaptic and axonal immunostaining is noticed throughout the cortex, lateral septum, BNST, globus pallidus, some thalamic nuclei, tuberal hypothalamus (especially in the peri-ventricular region), periaqueductal gray matter, dorsal raphe and cerebellar molecular layer.
Strong intensity immunostaining of neuronal somas and axons is noticed in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus, retrochiasmatic area and occasionally (sparsed neurons) in the anterior hypothalamus.
Weak-moderate intensity neuronal cytoplasmic somatic immunostaining is noticed in the neocortex, lateral septum, in some thalamic nuclei, in multiple medullar nuclei (e.g facial nucleus) and in the cerebellar Purkinje cells.
In addition, plexus choroideus as well as the median eminence is strongly immunoreactive.
Positive cells and structuresi
Manually selected location of the protein positivity, observed by immunofluorescence staining in mouse brain.
Soma, axon and synapse in neurons. Choroid plexus and circumventricular organs of ependymal cells.
